Your donations will go towards support training 

and community projects at the Dayton Sewing Collaborative, such as:

  • Dayton Train to Sew - workforce development training program in industrial sewing in manufacturing. Provide industrial sewing training program to aid students in developing skills that are required by local manufacturers. The program is offered for free to students.

  • Quilts for Sleep in Heavenly Peace and other local charities. In partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the DSC makes quilts and blankets to be included in bed donations to children in need in the Dayton area.

  • Patient comfort items including port pillows, stoma pillows and tubie pads. 

  • Dayton Street Medicine - made and donated hats, scarves and zippered nylon pockets in support of the street outreach program. 

  • Fidget blankets for dementia and hospice patients in support of the Dayton VA and other organizations. 

  • Partnership with Crayons-to-Classroom making pocket hugs and marble mazes for students in the Dayton area. 

  • Support Dayton Regional STEM in the Fashioning the Future STEMmersion event

Our Donations Wishlist

Sewing Items

Whether you are cleaning out your sewing studio, craft stash, fabric leftovers, art closet, estate collection, or unfinished project we’d love to take the items that are no longer useful to you and give them another life.

Sewing Items:

  • Home sewing machines or industrial machines (including sergers)!

  • Please only tested, working machines

  • Please no machines in cabinets (we have limited space)

  • Please no Singer Touch-n-Sew machines

Fabric - Yardage (Preferably 2 yard cuts or larger)

  • Quilting cotton - yardage or jelly rolls / layer cakes / charm packs

  • Anti-pill Fleece - yardage

  • Flannel Fabric - yardage

Items we do not accept:

  • Items that are soiled/dirty or have an odor (smoke, mildew, etc)

  • Items that have been exposed to pets

  • Clothing (finished or unfinished)

  • Fabric scraps (anything less than 1/2 yard)

  • Double knit polyester (from the 70s)
